A freelance music journalist by day, Juan Data puts on his wrestler mask by night and transforms into his DJ alter-ego to rock the party with his eclectic music selection and impressive mixing skills. Born and raised in Caballito, a middle-class neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Juan Data fell in love with the dance music underground and avant-guard at the age of thirteen and since then he constantly dreamed about becoming a DJ. In 2001, after moving to California to pursue a career as a music journalist, he was finally able to acquire his first set of turntables with his very first paycheck and since then he's been DJ'ing non-stop at house parties, Rock en Español concerts, night-clubs, lounges and bars. While keeping up with all the newest trends of the global music underground and blogging about it, DJ Juan Data also enjoys pleasing the mainstream crowds with pop hits and club bangers. Meanwhile, in his bedroom-studio he spends most of his days searching for new music and working on his music collages, released in the form of megamixes. As a DJ/Performer he has shared the stage with world renown Latin Alternative artists such as Babasónicos, Mexican Institute of Sound, María Daniela y su Sonido Lasser and Nortec.
